Safe and Secure Van Lines

Out of state move. Initially, they seem legit. Take your down payment, come get your stuff, then they store for 3 months, while we move to another state and try to find a new house. When you call to have your stuff delivered, it’s gone. They say the storage facility sold it, but we are hiring an attorney because we do not even know where our stuff was stored. entire 5 bedroom home,+ fullbasement,4300sqfeet. Hundreds of thousands of $$ They took everything we have ever owned. Every piece of furniture, 3 dining tables, 5 bedroom suites, theatre seating, couches, chairs, TVs, wireless sound system, all of our personal belongings, decor, art, kitchen and bath, so much can never be replaced. EVERYTHING.

My belongings were hijacked and are currently being held for ransom. Let me go into detail with you to explain my experience with Safe and Secure Van Lines.
We hired Safe and Secure for a Friday pickup of our 80 boxes. We sent all our measurements and box count to Michelle and Sandy Kenny at Safe and Secure Van Lines. We received our estimate and our date for pickup was set. Safe and Secure Van Lines contracted MDA Relocation LLC, Michael Aharoni, 7045 Stirling Rd, Suite 1208, Davie Florida, 33314. MDA didn't show up until Saturday night, 9:30 PM with the driver complaining about another pickup he had done in another state and that's why he was late. He didn't load up our boxes until Sunday after 4:30PM and didn't leave the property until almost 10:00 PM Sunday night. We were then told by Sandy Kenny that our truck was headed to Florida and that was confirmed by the owner of MDA Relocation LLC, Michael Aharoni. The next day we get a phone call from Michael Aharoni that our goods had been re-routed to one of his storage facilities because it was 60 pounds overweight and he wanted an additional $4,303.92. At this point we had already paid both Safe and Secure Van Lines and MDA for services. The extra $4303.92 would put this move over $10,000.00.
We contacted Safe and Secure Van Lines for help, Sandy Kenny, who told us to e-mail her the documents to her private e-mail account. I thought this was a bit fishy, but we did so anyway. She told us she would get back to us, she never did. We reached out once again to Safe and Secure and received no call backs, e-mails or assistance. We were left to deal with Michael Aharoni, the hijacker, alone. We've notified the FMCSA, which is a branch of the Department of Transportation. We wrote a letter to both Safe and Secure and MDA. I'll try to keep this review up to date so that people can read this and avoid companies like Safe and Secure Van Lines and hijacking companies like MDA Relocation LLC, owned by Michael Aharoni. In all reality we're being told Mr. Aharoni, most likely, sold all our goods and giving him more money would only add to his wealth and our misery.

I would first like to start by saying I have had multiple run ins with moving companys many of which have been unpleasent . Safe and Secure have restored my faith im the actaul industry !! Everything was accurate everything was as planned the company is very respectable and very polite. The movers showed great concern in my belongings and that they where delivered the same way they where picked up and packaged. The eta for the delivery and pick up time and dates where on point to the very minute !! Costumer service helped me through the whole journey with follow up calls and a great verification process to make sure everything in my estimate was correct. Im very pleased with this company we moved a 3bdrm house from Tx to Cal and safe and secure made everything stressfree and a calm collective peaceful move . Utilize this company for any state to state or local moves they're highly recomended by me !!

I received a verbal quote of $6000 after a phone inventory. I asked for an in home est but was told that wasn't needed. I let the sales rep know our stuff HAD to be delivered by June 16. He said they would pick up and drive directly to our new home. I gave my credit card info for a deposit of 1677, which he charged twice. He told me that additional ins wasn't needed because they covered up to $10,000. I was never given a right’s and responsibilities brochure or FMCSA’s Ready to Move brochure. During pick up, I was asked to sign papers. Sean, the foreman told me that I didn't have time to read them or it would cost me an additional day. He gave me a brief desc of each page. Sean advised to me write the date of June 15, 2019 in the time limit for delivery box.He asked if an 18wheeler could deliver and I said no. He told me that the 26ft truck he brought should be fine but if for some reason they had to move it all to a smaller truck it would be an additional 600 for them to load everything into the smaller truck, delivers and unpack. He said we could get around that extra charge if we rented our own truck. He assured me that they would unload everything, unwrap and assemble everything at my house. One page that he wanted me to sign was explained :This page just says that we will cover any loss or damage during your move. He had me write the words 60 cents per pound per article and said that was the minimum but that we were covered up to $10,000. They started loading. When almost complete they figured out that they couldn't fit all if our stuff and told me I'd have to pay to rent another truck. We took items off the truck to avoid that cost.When they left, they had 3 mattresses strapped to the back of the truck!
The truck weighed 9640 lbs totsling 10,149.67 and that we had to pay him more or we would have to pay for storage.
We paid 4184 to get our stuff going. We were never given an option to be at weighings and were not offered weigh tickets at all except for the initial weighing. We received no summary of arbitration from MDA Movers that we later discovered was subcontracted to ship our items.
June 15 came and went. We called well over 50 times to get an answer over the next week. Frank stated that our items were scheduled to be delivered June 15 and got me in touch with Sandy Kenney who told us our stuff was in a warehouse in Dallas. She got us in touch with the driver, Shalom who was rude. The delivery came June 24 in an 18 wheeler. Driver said if we rented our own truck, they would not unload into our house. Or I could pay him $1200 to do it all and argued with me that I misunderstood Sean and if I didn't like it I could call Sean to unload. The driver stated he needed 4288.67 in money orders. As I started to fill out what was missing and/or broken, the driver approached me and said not to worry about filling it out because I have 9m to file a claim. He told me that if he had to wait any longer, he would require extra payment to cover the late fees. "Just sign the damn paperwork, you have nine months to figure out what isn’t here. I can’t help you and I have to leave now.” I called Sandy about our experience and she told me that I signed a contract and that I did receive the following: Your rights and responsibilities, FMCSA’s Ready to Move Brochure, and an arbitration agreement. I asked her for proof that I signed a contract and that that information was given to me. She said she would email it over but never has.Missing Items: Antique church pew,
couch, bookcase, sideboard, mattress, nightstand, TV, computer accessories, lamp, antique desk, 2nd row of van seats, lawnmower, dolly, tools, yard equip., bathroom accessories, decor. Damaged: dog house, 4 dining room chairs, fridge, armoire, drawer, bedframe, footboard, cabinet doors, TV, antique full length mirror, coat rack Antique porcelain doll.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $12000

Okay so the moving company Safe & Secure van lines deserves full recognition for their services. I made a move from new jersey to Georgia a 4 bdrm home and everything about the move was perfect and immaculate. The best thing about it was I have never dealt with a company as such for a move I've always done it on my own and it becomes very hectic at times. This move was different because it was from state to state I'm more than satisfied with how everything turned out with the company and how they handle their business . I was not deceived or misled about anything when it came to pricing and my estimate. Furthermore I would like to say that this company has a great energy every time I spoke to somebody they where helpful and they where patient. I purchased the full packing package and the way that the movers immediately started working and taking stuff apart and packing it was stunning to see and they moved very cautious with my belongings which was my only concern about using a moving company to begin with and they made me feel so at ease while watching the handling the packing and the loading of my items. Great companies like this are hard to find and I'm happy I was able to be a costumer with Safe & Secure Van Lines.

I normally don’t do reviews, but because this was one of the most stressful things for me I decided to write a review due to they took the stress away and I must say that Secured Van Lines was the most professional and courteous company that I have dealt with. From the the moment I spoke to them to get an estimate, thru the inventory and day of move. It was the least stressful move. Everyone at Secured Van Lines we’re very nice and I would highly recommend them to all my family and friends . Thank you again.

I hired Safe and Secure Van LInes and they did an excellent job!. They were there on time and took time to analyze how best to move the equipment to avoid damage. They even helped me unpack and arranged the equipment at the location. I was so impressed that Adam the owner of the company turned up at my house to supervise the activity. If you are looking for an excellent service, Secure Van Lines is the place to go. Great company, great guys, I booked them on a short notice and they really exceeded my expectation, every piece of furniture was rapped in blanket, no scratches and they are very careful with the wall as well. I must surely recommend them to my associates and family members. Excellent job guys.

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. They have great customer service on the front end (Janice St. John, Amber Dylan, Sandy and Michelle, in particular) but once they have your money, they disappear and become completely uncooperative. This is an unethical company and I am shocked they are still in business. Please do not waste your time or resources on Safe and Secure Van Lines. I'm sure the positive reviews are from within the company. It seems to me the employees are incentivized to steal from people. Horrible, horrible company.

When I first spoke to the salesman he told me that I would receive a call the week of the move at the latest the day before my window. Along the way I have reached out multiple times to narrow down the day (2 day window). I was told many times that someone would call me right back, but hours passed without a return call. I had to call back again and again without getting my question answered. Here I am at 7:00 PM on the day before my moving window and they still don’t know the day or time that the movers will arrive! The most disparaging aspect is that nobody is apologetic for their lack of knowledge or communication. I can only hope that the actual move goes smoother than the lead up- if they ever show up.

This is a company that I am sorry I ever business with. We had to move from Chicago to Florida and were given a quote of $3400. We paid down payment of $1306. Our move was to happen May 2-3. John assured us— look at our reviews on Google he said. So we did and decided it would be a decent company.
We waited on May 2, we waited on May 3. Nothing. We got a hold of the “person in charge” Russel. Oh, they will be there May 4 at 9 AM. We waited. We called Russel who was intoxicated and he said he will try to figure it out and give him 1 Hour. We waited. I had to start work on May 6.
At 1 pm, we went to Penske, rented a truck, got help to load truck, and started driving. At 1 PM, we told Russel we were doing this and if he could refund our deposit. He said “sure!!”.
We have been calling them(main number, John, Russell) inquiring about our refund. Russell states that my husband wrote a negative review and we would not get refund unless we took it down. We took it down. Still no refund. I called Russell this morning again asking about refund. He was drunk, slurring, and said “F** you”. I told him that I would write negative review and expect my refund. And what he was doing was black mail.

DO NOT USE THIS CO.
They are not good people.
I do not expect to get a refund.

I was super concerned originally after I started hearing horror stories of people’s moving experiences, but I spoke with a very nice lady on the phone that explained everything to me from beginning to end. Everything happened exactly how she stayed it would. I was not happy about my delivery window when I reserved but she also explained that everyone in the industry works the same way. I got my stuff just a little over a week after pickup and the labor team at pick up and delivery worked very hard. Kudos to you and the team. Keep up the good work.

Safe and Secure Van Lines helped my family with our long distance move. Having three children and one being a newborn there was no way we would be able to move our self and I know we needed help. I started looking around for movers, Safe and Secure was probably the second call I made and I felt the most comfortable. We went through the items I am looking to move and secured my deposit. I felt like there was a weight lifted off of my shoulders and I was excited to get this show on the road. I received a call a couple of days before pick up to confirm my inventory and to see if there has been any changes. I got another call about a day before pick up letting me up know what day and what time my pick up would be. My movers arrived on time and pretty much ready to go. They did a walk through and listed the items I was moving to make sure we covered everything, after that they loaded our belongings onto the truck in a timely manner. Everything was done so smoothly and efficient. I was updated throughout my whole move and had a call about a day or two before delivery, again with dates and time frame. They arrived and they were busy bees until they left with staging the home and putting all my furniture in the room I wanted. I couldn't be more grateful with the crew that was assigned to my move and the customer service team was excellent! I am proud to say my move went with out a doubt seamlessly and I couldn't have asked for better.

From start to finish our experience with Safe and Secure Van Lines was fantastic. They responded quickly to our inquiry, provided a thorough estimate, and had everything scheduled that day. I can't say enough about my movers. They called the morning of to let us know they were on their way, showed up on time, and got to work immediately. They were incredibly polite, hard-working, wrapped and protected every single one of our items, coordinated where we wanted each item to go and made our move completely stress free.

This company, Safe and Secure Van Lines, moved my sister's family. They lost and broke over $8000 of their stuff. They lost a family heirloom-a giant church pew restored by our grandfather who has passed away. My sister had boxes that belong to other people delivered with her things. They were also over 2 weeks late on delivery of their things. They have also refused to cover the costs of any items that were broken and lost. The company president, Sean Kirtz, lied about not storing their boxes when they actually did store the boxes in a warehouse in Texas. He is a scam artist that "owns" several companies. I do not usually get involved in these types of things, however, this company has lost a very important family heirloom. Seriously, how do you lose something as large as a church pew?? Well, I will hold Sean Kirtz personally responsible if this is not resolved quickly and to my sister's satisfaction.

This started in early May when I booked with Safe and Secure. Too many issues to add..It's been 5 weeks and we still have not received our belongings. We've been contacting the moving company Daily since our requested delivery date, they tell us they will call us back, they never do. Russell the supervisor yelled at my girlfriend upon pickup when we tried to complain about the service we were getting, and the fact that the carrier was trying to tell use we owe an additional $3600 dollars. They were attempting to charge us for items clearly stated in the contract with Safe and Secure that are included. Safe and Secure told us they would get the documents from the carrier, but they never did. They are EXTREMELY poor in in customer service, we are still dealing with this company as they have not delivered any promises. On top of that, it turns out the carrier they hired does not have an active MC number, and they illegally hired a company who is NOT legal to operate. Avoid this company at all costs.

They have provided us 6 different times that they have told us our stuff was to be delivered and no one has shown up. After filing a BBB review, Russell the supervisor called me and tried to give me a $200-$300 discount to remove my reviews. I told him to deliver my belongings, then we could discuss how they can resolve this situation. This has been one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with, they do not care about customer service, they do not act on behalf of the customer, and they only care about getting your deposit then moving on to the next job.

DO NOT USE SAFE AND SECURE VAN LINES! They are not safe or secure.

I never write reviews, but after this horrific moving experience, I felt I had to make sure others did not go through what I did.

First, the five star reviews you read are front loaded. Don’t trust them.

If you think the great quote from John at the beginning is worth it - it’s not.

John is a salesman that makes you feel “secure.” Once they get your initial down payment, that John disappears.

The fact that they mandate a direct deposit and don’t take a credit card is an automatic red flag. You will never see that money again.

In addition, they play one company off another. They don’t even move anyone. They “hire” another company (in my case, Unique Van lines - both Miami based companies and both in “it” together) so they aren’t responsible for anything. Sandy, in “customer service” will promise to call back but never does. They’ve been doing this for a long time it seems and they know how to make you feel comfortable and then take you for everything you’ve got.

I literally felt that they held my furniture ransom until I gave them CASH! They say you can pay by credit card and then at the last minute demand cash only.

They demanded $3000 above their original and confirmed estimate.

Dishes were broken, the movers never showed up on time, they crushed all my suits and dress shirts (dry cleaning expense is huge) because they didn’t use professional moving people.

I actually filed a police report and I have continued to request the company give me some compensation but they ignore all calls and proof of the damage.

Bottom line is, choose a moving company that doesn’t have so many red flags and an “F” rating from the Better Business Bureau.

Do your research. This is a way of life for these people. They sleep fine at night while you are in misery.  If you use them you will not be happy.

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4600

We got a great quote from John via Phone it was 43 cents a pound.Little did we know he would farm our job out to another company. We were told it was a different company and we would be charged cubic feet not weight after the contents of our home was loaded on the truck. The price doubled. We were told that our belongings would arrive no later than 3 days after our move in date and now it has been 21 days and we do not know were or when our belongings will be delivered. We are a family of six with children under the age of five and have nothing but a few suitcases and blow up mattresses. FYI John has and will not return our calls or emails.

SCAM ALERT SCAM ALERT SCAM ALERT SCAM ALERT If you believe the greater than 1 star reviews about this SCAM company and then hire them you will be doing yourself a huge disservice. This company has been a nightmare experience for us. They gladly took $1090.00 from us and our agreement was we would pay the remainder when our belongings were picked up. When the movers arrived they moved our stuff out of the storage unit we had rented and then DEMANDED $4000.00 before they would do anything else. My husband tried to call Safe and Secure Vanlines but no answer so he told the movers he was cancelling the services. The driver with the movers became aggressive. The driver finally called his dispatcher so my husband could talk to him. The dispatcher tried to negotiate a deal at a lower price other than and besides what our original agreement with safe and secure was. My husband finally just told the movers to leave, which they did but left everything they moved out of the storage unit for my husband (who is medically disabled) to return by himself. When we finally got ahold of SANDY KENNEY from safe and secure and after several phone calls and email attempts, and an attempt to withdraw the remaining balance from our checking account (of our original agreement) even though we cancelled the services we were told by SANDY KENNEY via a phone call my husband made to her that our concern was being sent to their accounting department and we could expect a call within a week to 10 days. We haven't received that call or our refund. This company is a scam. They do not tell you up front that they are brokers and they send another disreputable company to actually do the moving who then AGRESSIVELY DEMAND more money from you. Needless to say we are very unhappy and are looking into other avenues to get our money returned to us. This whole process has been going on since May 2019.

They will tell you ANYTHING to get your money and then provide every excuse to push you off when it is time to schedule your move. They lied several times about having booked movers for me but finally told me that no one was coming for my stuff THE DAY OF MY MOVE! I have worked with several people from this company. They go from nice and promising to rude a shady very fast.

The day the company didn’t show up for my move, the manager Russel stayed that a refund would be processed. Amber and Sandy confirmed over the last month that a refund was processed. After a month, I still have not received a refund. A few days ago, the “billing manager,” Kim agreed that a refund should be issued since the company didn’t show up but said that she “had to verify the books to make sure a refund wasn’t already issued,” even though she already said that a refund wasn’t processed or noted “in the books.” When she said that the refund couldn’t be processed till the end of the day or “possibly Monday” after telling me she only works on Fridays, I insisted that this be reconciled immediately. She got defensive and ultimately hung up on me.. I have yet to receive a refund receipt as promised.

You will be sorry if you use this company! This is a booking company hidden behind a high rated online face company named ALPHA VAN LINES. I didn’t know I was using Safe and Secure Van Lines until I got my down payment receipt.
